Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@backyardBasecamp.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Our mission as an organization is to (re)connect Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to local food, land, and nature in Baltimore. One way we do this is by sharing knowledge about our local ecosystem with community members through the beauty of flowers. By joining, you’ll receive 3 weeks of flowers at peak freshness since they are harvested the same day you receive them, instead of being shipped from somewhere else around the world. The bouquets will feature unique varieties you can't usually find in big stores and are free of pesticides, herbicides and waxes.

Tuesday afternoons flowers will be available for pickup from 3-6pm outside the BLISS Farmhouse (5111 Plainfield Ave. Baltimore, MD 21206)

  • August pickup dates: First 3 Tuesdays- August 4th, August 11th, August 18th
  • September pickup dates: September 8th, September 15th, September 22nd

No, you can select just one month to participate or all three, whichever one fits best for you.

Our flowers are grown here on the BLISS site using organic modalities. We select varieties based on stem strength, vase life and beauty. We grow these to bring focus to how many varieties of flowers can be grown right here in Baltimore, provide a home for our pollinators, and boost local biodiversity.

The flowers we grow change based on the season. Some examples of flowers that could be included in the bouquet include Snapdragons, Marigolds, Cosmos, Sunflowers, and many more.

If you are unable to pick up your bouquet on Tuesday please let us know! Although we do not allow storage over the weekend, we can store it until the following day for you to pick up.

Alyssa will provide a pouch of freshly dried herbs, along with information about each plant and instructions on how to work with each herb.

The main function of this mini herbal CSA is to connect you with the healing nature of the land that also invites you to explore the many ways you might like to engage more deeply with herbal healing and plant-based wellness.

Sign up today and take our 1-minute survey as we work to bring you a seasonal subscription of herbal abundance, along with monthly herbal education and medicine-making knowledge Survey.
